A Fond Farewell: Celebrating Jeff Mills’ Leadership and Legacy
On Thursday, August 13, more than 220 friends, colleagues and members of the University of Maine community gathered to celebrate the retirement of Jeff Mills ’82, President/CEO of the University of Maine Foundation.
The celebration recognized Mills’ years of leadership and service to the University of Maine, as well as the lasting impact he has had on the UMaine community.
University of Maine Alumni Association President/CEO Emeritus John Diamond emceed the event, which included remarks from University of Maine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy, University of Maine System Chancellor Dannel Malloy, former University of Maine Foundation Board Chair Bob Strong, University of Maine Alumni Association President/CEO Tom Peaco, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and M Club Planning Seth Woodcock, and Jeff’s children.
During the celebration, Strong presented Mills with a certificate granting him President/CEO Emeritus status, recognizing his distinguished service and leadership of the University of Maine Foundation.
Honoring Jeff and Tammy’s Legacy
The celebration also provided an opportunity for the UMaine community to honor Jeff and his wife, Dr. Tammy Mills ’04G, through support of the Dr. Jeffery Mills ’82 and Dr. Tammy Mills ’04G Alumni House Endowment Fund.
More than $37,000 was raised for the endowment, which supports Alumni House and helps ensure it remains a welcoming home for the UMaine community for generations to come.
Those who were unable to attend the celebration can still make a gift to the Alumni House Endowment in honor of Jeff and Tammy.
