President’s Message

Jeff led the Foundation through all-time record fundraising years, through tremendous growth in the Foundation’s endowment, and through the Foundation’s endowment investment returns being reported as being among the highest in the nation according to the Boston Globe. As Jeff begins his richly deserved retirement and as we wait excitedly for the October arrival of the Foundation’s newest President/CEO, Sean Campbell, I am committed to keeping our important work moving forward without missing a beat.

One of the best parts of my job is the review of some of the thank you messages that University of Maine students write to the donors who created the scholarship funds which help them. When a student says,
“Knowing that there are donors willing to invest in my future motivates me to work even harder and make the most of my opportunities at UMaine,”

I know that the work we do makes a difference. We can’t thank our donors enough for their generosity and for the legacies they have left to help our state’s land grant institution.
