Scott F. Duggan, '87, graduated with a BS in Business Administration and earned his JD from Boston University. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and recently retired from Carter’s Inc., where he was Senior VP of Legal & Corporate Affairs, General Counsel & Secretary.  Prior to that, Scott was Senior VP-General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer at The Fresh Market, Inc., from 2010 to 2019, and also head of Real Estate from 2017-2019.  Scott joined The Fresh Market from the Boston-based law firm of Goodwin, Procter LLP, where he was a partner. Scott was actively involved with BECUM in prior years and has expressed an interest in re-engaging now that he’s retired. Scott, who paid for his college education, has reflected on the value of his UMaine degree and, as a result, established a scholarship fund.  Scott and his wife Joanne, whom he met at UMaine, live in Lynnfield, MA, and also have a home in Kennebunkport.
