Jaime Roy is a member of the Class of 2017 at the University of Maine. She is a Communication Sciences and Disorders major and Disability Studies minor from Orringon, ME. She has a passion for tenor saxophone, and plays in the pep band and marching band at UMaine. Her favorite memory of college so far was playing at Frozen Fenway in 2014. After obtaining her degree, Jaime hopes to work toward an Au.D. and become an audiologist.
Jaime has received the Laurits C. and Dorothea Jensen Scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year.
“Receiving this scholarship helps my family immensely. My brother will be starting college in the fall, and I pay for college myself through scholarships, loans, and through three different part-time jobs. Juggling school and work is tough, but I feel very proud that I can make it work.
Thank you for everything you do. I hope I can be like you and support students someday – it truly makes a difference.”
