When Guy Vegas received a scholarship from the William S. Cohen Institute for Leadership and Public Service, he knew exactly what he would use it for: the 2022 Washington Leadership Course. With this award’s help, he was able to go to the nation’s capital and learn about our government and how it will play a role in his future career. He also had the opportunity to speak with both Maine State Senators, Susan Collins and Angus King.
Guy studies Ecology and Environmental Science here at the University and hopes to impact the way people consider and interact with the world around them and make a change for the better. Guy believes that his time at the Leadership Course gave him valuable insight into what he must do in the future to meet his goals and enact the change he wants to see.
