Giving through MaineStreet portal is two steps, which can be easily completed through the links below:
Step 1.
Make your Voluntary Deduction to UM Employee Giving Campaign on your MaineStreet account (UMaine employees only).
Step 2.
Tell the University of Maine Foundation what you would like the gift to support by submitting this form.
Detailed instructions for Step 1:
To Start or Update a Voluntary Payroll Deduction:
a. Log in to your UMaine MaineStreet account (https://mainestreet.maine.edu)
b. Click Employee Self-Service > Payroll and Compensation > Voluntary Deductions. You will see a list of your current voluntary deductions available in self-service.
Proceed to > Payroll and Compensation > Voluntary Deductions. You will see a list of your current voluntary deductions available in self-service.
c. Complete the Add Voluntary Deduction Form:
To have a Total Amount taken in payroll period increments with a stop date:
(EXAMPLE: Total Amount of $1,200.00 by having $100.00 taken each payroll period for twelve pay periods/months.)
*Type of Deduction:
Click on the magnifying glass next to this field.
From the list, choose UM Employee Giving Campaign.
*Select whether Deductions a Flat Amount or Percent:
From the pull-down menu, choose the option for a FLAT AMOUNT.
*Enter Amount or Percent to be deducted:
Enter the flat amount to be deducted from each pay period.
Take deduction until I reach this Goal Amount:
Enter the total amount you intend to donate over time.
*Enter Deduction Start Date:
Enter today’s date to begin payroll deductions in the current pay period.
NOTE: Submitting this form near the end of a pay period/month may cause a delay in the first deduction.
Enter Deduction Stop Date:
Leave this field blank.
Click the “Submit” button.
OR
To have an amount taken in payroll period increments with no stop date (recurring gift):
(EXAMPLE: $100.00 taken each payroll period from now until some time later when I want payroll deductions to end.)
*Type of Deduction:
Click on the magnifying glass next to this field.
From the list, choose UM Employee Giving Campaign.
*Select whether Deductions a Flat Amount or Percent:
From the pull-down menu, choose the option for a FLAT AMOUNT.
*Enter Amount or Percent to be deducted:
Enter the flat amount to be deducted from each pay period.
Take deduction until I reach this Goal Amount:
Leave this field blank.
*Enter Deduction Start Date:
Enter today’s date to begin payroll deductions in the current pay period.
