Take the Challenge & Support Future Black Bears!

Bear Pair Challenge Art
The Bear Pairs Scholarship was established at the University of Maine Foundation in 2013. Distributions from the endowed fund are used to provide scholarships to children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Bear Pairs. Students with financial need who identify themselves as descendants of a Bear Pair may apply for the scholarship. Recipients may be renewed if they maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Bear Pairs are University of Maine alumni couples who have traveled life’s road together. The founders of this fund hope that other Bear Pair couples who value their experience will consider adding to the scholarship in recognition of an anniversary, an event, a special occasion, or as a memorial.
