Abby Cadorette

Abby Cadorette, a Senior Ecology and Environmental Science major at UMaine, is grateful for the scholarships that have helped her during her time at UMaine. She explained that “[My scholarships] alleviated the stress of covering college costs, and has allowed me to focus on what I came here for — to learn!”

In addition to classes, Abby has been a busy member of the community. She has been a teaching assistant in the Honors College, co-president of her class council and a dance teacher at a local studio.

Abby has received three Foundation-based scholarships. The Edward/Grace Cutting Merit Scholarship, created in 1993 by a bequest from Grace Cutting, class of 1925. The William Wesley Walbridge Scholarship, created in 1962 by H. Bernice Wentworth in memory of her Uncle, and the George L. Houston Fund Scholarship, created in 2007 through an estate gift from George Houston, a member of the class of 1937.
