Emily Doyon graduated in May of 2017 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. While studying at UMaine, Emily was the proud recipient of the Henry H. Fogler and Mary Moynihan Fogler ’43 Scholarship.
“Scholarships from generous alumni and friends…have made it possible for me to pursue my [degree at UMaine].”
Originally from Biddeford, Maine, Emily accepted a position with Proctor and Gamble in Auburn, Maine as a Process Engineer in quality assurance, starting immediately upon graduation.
“It is a lot of responsibility for a 22-year-old,” Emily admits, but her academic credentials in the Chemical Engineering program have surely prepared her.
Emily was incredibly involved during her time at the University of Maine. She was a part of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, The Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Engineering Ambassadors, the Society of Women Engineers, as well as various honor societies. Emily also participated in an internship with Verso Paper between her first and second year of college.
“Scholarships like the Henry H. Fogler and Mary Moynihan Fogler ’43 Scholarship have made these wonderful opportunities possible…I could focus more on studies and not on finances…Thank you again for this scholarship. I am truly grateful for your contribution to the Foundation…”
