2017 Reunion slide

Every five years University of Maine classes celebrate a reunion. Our Reunion Giving Program offers a way for classmates to celebrate and commemorate their affinity for the College of Our Hearts, Always with a special gift.

A continued investment in endowed class scholarships increases the annual payout and hedges against inflation for assisting future UMaine students.

Recurring Monthly Gift

Make monthly gifts to support your class scholarship fund or any other UMaine entity. Recurring gifts provide a predictable source of revenue for UMaine and your gift goes to work immediately for the benefit of the UMaine entity you choose to support. Monthly recurring giving can be set up through our online giving link.

Reunion Pledge

A five-year pledge will take you to your next reunion celebration, please contact with Dee or Derek (see above) to assist in setting this up.

Planned Giving

As you update your estate plans you may want to consider a legacy gift for the benefit of the University of Maine. Foundation staff are available to review a wide variety of deferred gift options including: retirement plans, annuities, trusts and bequests. There are even options which will pay a steady income and offer some income tax advantages. In some circumstances, with the right planning, the tax advantage can equal the amount of the gift, making it a win-win situation.

Legacy gifts of over $10,000 make you an immediate member of the Charles F. Legacy Society. Membership includes recognition at many campus events.

Establish Your Own Named Fund

For those interested in establishing a personal legacy, an endowed fund can support what is most important to you. Whether a scholarship, program or much-needed discretionary funds for special projects, your name will forever be attached and will you continue to provide support in perpetuity.

Class scholarship and endowed fund gifts may be pledged over time. Many donors find this convenient and are surprised with how fast it can add up. Beyond the Charles F. Allen Legacy Society, there are giving societies which match almost every gift level. These societies each offer different opportunities from the University in appreciation of your gift and as a way to stay in touch with those who have expressed an interest in UMaine.

Please consider participation at any level you can, every gift counts and shows your class’s continued affinity for the University of Maine.
