The University of Maine is honored to recognize its most generous donors.
Triple Crown of Support
Donors who are members of the Stillwater Society, the Charles F. Allen Legacy Society and the President’s Club are recognized as Triple Crown donors.
The University of Maine Stillwater Society was created in 2000 to recognize individuals who have given $25,000 in cumulative outright and/or irrevocable planned gifts during their lifetimes. Recognition takes place at the following levels:
Level 1 – $25,000 – $99,999
Level 2 – $100,000 – $249,999
Level 3 – $250,000 – $499,999
Level 4 – $500,000 – $999,999
|Level 5 – $1,000,000 & Up
New members are inducted at a formal recognition dinner each year and presented with a pin symbolic of their respective Stillwater Society level. “Advancing” members are also recognized at a formal pinning ceremony prior to the annual dinner.
Members at the $1,000,000 level receive additional special recognition as members of the Katahdin Society.
Nearly 500 alumni and friends are currently Stillwater Society members. Their generous gifts have provided the margin of excellence that distinguishes UMaine today.
In May 2001, the Stillwater Society began awarding The Stillwater Presidential Award.

Donors who have made a planned gift to benefit UMaine through their estate plan or some other planned giving vehicle become members of the Charles F. Allen Legacy Society. Members are recognized with a pin and a certificate of membership and an invitation to the Charles F. Allen Legacy Society Recognition Luncheon.
The President’s Club recognizes alumni and friends who contribute $1,000 or more per year to the University of Maine or one of its fundraising partners. Some donors become members of the President’s Club because of a single gift of $1,000 or more; others qualify as a result of making several gifts that total $1,000 or more during the year.
The President’s Club is a wonderful entry point for friends and alumni who are committed to making a difference at UMaine through their philanthropy. President’s Club members include those who respond to direct mail appeals and our student phonathon, as well as those who make substantial gifts to named endowments and capital projects.
Regardless of whether one makes an unrestricted gift for UMaine to use where needed most, or wishes to support a specific need, every President’s Club donor will receive a special pin as a token of our appreciation. Members are also recognized in the University of Maine’s Annual Report of Private Giving, unless they request otherwise.
For more information on the President’s Club contact the Foundation at 207.581.5100 or email@example.com.
President’s Club donors are cordially invited to attend our annual brunch, held in conjunction with Homecoming Weekend. If you are traveling from afar, we encourage you to reserve your accommodations in advance.
